About 12 years ago, a solar consultant knocked on my door and asked, “Would you allow me to lower your electricity bill?”

Ironically, this happened shortly after my family had sat down to discuss our summer electricity bills, which had become painfully expensive. Like many homeowners, we were looking for ways to lower our costs without sacrificing comfort.

I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. But after taking the time to review the numbers, solar made sense for both my family and my budget. That experience opened my eyes to a different way of managing energy costs and sparked my interest in the solar industry.

Back then, solar was very different than it is today. Homeowners had fewer options, battery storage was virtually nonexistent, and the process could be much more complicated. Over the years, I’ve watched the industry evolve with better technology, stronger warranties, battery backup solutions, and programs that make solar more accessible than ever.

What I love most about solar isn’t the panels, batteries, or technology. It’s helping families gain more control over one of their largest monthly expenses while providing greater energy independence and peace of mind.
